Netflix-Marvel’s The Punisher Trailer and Release Date Revealed!

Netflix has finally announced the release date of Marvel’s The Punisher after a long wait. The spin-off will have thirteen episodes in the first season, entirely centered around the much loved character that was originally debuted halfway through Daredevil season 2.

Netflix originally said it was coming in November, but the official release date was never confirmed. Coupled with spotty promotions, viewers were left to wait to find out what was actually happening with the series.

But now we know the series debut will be November 17th!

And along with that, we also were blessed with the new trailer:

It was rumored that Marvel was going to announce the premiere date during the show’s New York Comic-Con panel earlier this month. Sadly, the panel ended up getting cancelled following the Las Vegas Massacre that left over 50 people dead and 500 injured.

The Punisher tells the story of Frank Castle, who is a combat veteran who lost his family to an organized-crime shootout. Castle uses his military knowledge and skills to murder the criminals responsible for his family’s death.

The series is based on the Marvel Comics character, who is tied to “an intense amount of gun violence,” according to Variety.

Jon Bernthal, known for The Walking Dead, stars as Castle. The cast also features Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Deborah Ann Woll, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Michael Nathanson, Jaime Ray Newman, Jason R. Moore, Daniel Webber, and Paul Schulze.

November 17th is the same day that Justice League hits theaters. Netflix began teasing The Punisher since last April. DC, on the other hand began running trailers for Justice League this summer.
