Fish Literally Fell From the Sky in Mexico Over the Weekend

Civil defense officials in northeast Mexico say rain was accompanied by “small fish that fell from the sky”.

Tamaulipas state officials posted photos on the agency's Facebook page of four small fish that came down during the brief shower.

"Curious case in Tampico (Col. Lomas de Rosales) where there was a light rain that included small fish that literally fell from the sky," the civil defense said in the post.

The Weather Network reports that fish mostly fell in the Lomas de Rosales community.

Apparently this isn’t the first time for this strange phenomenon.

According to LiveScience, a science news website run by Purch, scientists believe that fish can easily get sucked up from oceans or lakes during a storm. Then, strong winds carry the fish inland before dropping them down on unsuspecting people.
