‘Hot Fuzz’ Swan ‘Arrested’ in ‘Road Rage’ Incident

Keep your eyes on the road, you’ll never know who, or what is in front of you! A very unhappy swan was "arrested" by police following a "road rage" incident in Cambridgeshire, England Monday morning.

The bird had to follow normal procedures, and was actually detained in the back of a patrol car for offenses Cambridgeshire officers described as "road rage, an RTC (road traffic collision) and obstructing the highway".

Officers posted photos of the “suspect” using the hashtag #HotFuzz, in reference to the British police comedy, Hot Fuzz, where Simon Pegg apprehends a criminal swan.

"One in custody following road rage, RTC and obstructing the Highway. Awaiting RSPCA/RSPB attendance. #HotFuzz #NoSwansWereHarmed..." police officers wrote on Twitter.

A spokeswoman for the Cambridgeshire Police Press Office says the swan was hit while flying by a truck that was transporting goods on Station Road, St Ives. The swan landed on a bridge nearby.

After an analysis of the bird’s condition, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) concluded the swan had no injuries and got the green light to release it back into the wild.

Since this story went viral, officers from Cambridgeshire say they have been getting numerous calls from the public worried about “the swan on the A1123 in St Ives”.

According to Cambridge News, there are currently no reports on who’s car it was, how the swan actually got into the vehicle, and where the swan planned to go.
